1. What the tool provides

VIN Recall Scan is an independent informational tool. It checks whether an entry contains exactly 17 permitted Latin letters and digits, prepares a local reference, and displays a static preview. The check does not validate a VIN’s check digit, confirm that the vehicle exists, identify a vehicle, or retrieve a vehicle’s records.

2. What it does not provide

No live recall source, vehicle-history database, safety certification, purchase service, or repair-booking service is connected. “Not checked” means no recall lookup has been performed. A correctly formatted VIN does not mean that a vehicle is free of recalls or safe to drive.

The second window contains three editable text placeholders in this template. Its Windows graphic is decorative only. The “Get full report” button is intentionally disabled. No payment, full report, automatic download, or system action is offered.

3. Use official guidance

For US vehicles, the NHTSA recall lookup (opens a new tab) is an external resource. For other markets, consult the appropriate authority or manufacturer. Follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions and contact an authorized dealer about inspections or repairs. This application is not a substitute for those services.

4. Independent service

The site is not affiliated with or endorsed by NHTSA, Microsoft, or any vehicle manufacturer. Names of external organizations and the Windows graphic do not imply a partnership. External sites operate under their own terms and may change independently of this project.

5. Appropriate use and availability

Use the site for its intended informational purpose. Do not attempt to disrupt the service or use it to send malicious material. This template does not promise uninterrupted availability, complete recall coverage, or a particular outcome. Nothing on this page is intended to exclude rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
