1. The VIN you enter

VIN Recall Scan checks VIN length and permitted characters in your browser. The VIN is held in the current page’s memory and displayed in the two reference windows. The application does not send it to a server, append it to URLs, write it to cookies, local storage or session storage, or include it in analytics.

Closing a window leaves the form value in the current page. The application has no saved VIN history and does not write to your clipboard. Browser extensions, browser features, and software outside this application are not controlled by us.

2. Hosting and access logs

Your browser requests the page and local CSS, JavaScript, and image files from the host. Hosting infrastructure may record information such as IP addresses, request times, requested paths, and user-agent information. This project does not configure the host’s logs or their retention period. Do not place a VIN or other private information in a page URL.

3. Optional usage counts

Optional analytics are disabled on this installation. The included site-tools.php script does not send analytics requests, store usage counts, or create tracking cookies. No third-party analytics or external font service is included.

The project contains an optional first-party aggregate counter that a site operator can explicitly configure. This paragraph changes when that counter is enabled. In that mode, only allowlisted event names are sent; VINs and form values are excluded, and Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control, and the local opt-out setting are respected.

4. Official links and email

External lookup links open only when you choose them. No VIN is included in those links. The destination website has its own privacy practices. The contact email link opens your email application; it does not submit a message through this website. Messages you choose to send are handled by your email provider and the recipient’s provider. This project does not create or configure that mailbox.

This page describes the supplied application, not every possible hosting configuration. It does not promise a deletion process for data the application does not hold. These template disclosures have not been legally reviewed. The deploying operator must verify them against the actual hosting and email setup.
